Wellington Rotary Provided two $1000 bursaries for PECI grads Elizabeth Bailas and Declan Vincent's post secondary education.

Elizabeth Bailas is a CML grad and is going to Loyalist in the Fall for Nursing. She is a dedicated student, very social and has a very kind heart. When asked how she contributed to the life of PECI in her application, this was her response:

"Throughout my four years at PECI, I have contributed to school life in a variety of meaningful ways academically, artistically, athletically, and through student leadership. I have consistently maintained honours, demonstrating a strong commitment to academic excellence. In the arts, one of my earliest contributions was painting a large Panther mural in the art wing with my sister in Grade 9, leaving a lasting creative mark on the school. Athletically, I was a member of the girls' soccer team in Grade 9 and played on the Panther girls rugby team during my junior and senior years. As scrum half, I contributed to the team's success both on and off the field, and in Grade 10, I was honoured to receive the Most Dedicated Player award at our athletic celebration. I also helped design the team’s jerseys and supported school spirit by volunteering to photograph games and assist with the boys' rugby team. In leadership, I served as student council co-president for the 2023–2024 school year. In this role, I helped represent student voices, plan events, and promote a positive and inclusive school environment. Whether through academics, the arts, athletics, or leadership, I have taken pride in being an active and dedicated member of the PECI community."

Declan Vincent is a CML grad and is going to Brock University in the fall for a Bachelor of Kinesiology. He is a fun, hard working guy - liked by everyone! When asked how he contributed to the life of PECI, this was his response:

I have contributed to PECI's Athletic Council throughout my high school life. I joined the Athletic Council in grade 10 and worked on intramurals, elementary tournaments, creating things for the Athletic Celebration and then taking the role of Co-Captain for the 2024-25 year. During my grade 12 year I joined the Student Voice committee as well. This new and upcoming committee works on tackling issues throughout the school like improving school spirit, decreasing vandalized bathrooms and more. Ever since COVID-19 has become less of a threat I have been on every athletic team that I can. Soccer, Cross Country, Basketball, Badminton and Rugby. During my grade 12 year I was the SR Boys Soccer Team Captain. I went from being on the bench for a number of these sports to now being a starter that is contributing towards the team's morale and success.
