(20th Anniversary Charter Member Series)

                  President's Message

Another busy week across the county as we prepare for the upcoming Thanksgiving Weekend.  It is a wonderful time of the year for families to visit the local apple farms, local fairs and enjoy the magnificent fall weather.

The past Friday was National Day of Truth and Reconciliation and many members of our club marked this special day with purchase of Orange T Shirts with proceeds of the sales going to Indigenous Charities.

Last Call for Tickets to October 15th Dinner Dance.  Tickets can be purchased at Wellington Home Hardware or by registering at Wellingtonrotary.ca   The Online Auction is open from October 1 to 9pm on October 15th.     The bids have started coming in already this is a great opportunity to purchase a variety of items and support Rotary Fundraising for badly needed equipment for our local hospital.

October 20th is World Polio Day.   Our Rotary President Jennifer Jones reminded us that while Rotary has helped eliminate over 99% of polio work wide it remains a problem in Pakistan where millions of children are being vaccinated with support from our Polio Plus Campaign.   Recent cases of Polio in New York City and the UK reminds us that our work is not done.    Rotary Clubs across the world are being asked to make a yearly contribution to Polio Plus and our Board will prepare a donation for Club approval this month.

The month of October is Rotary's Economic and Community Development Month.  Local clubs are encouraged to increase their focus on developing stronger local communities.   Our work with projects like Beach Development, Hospital Construction, and our Wellness Committee work on reducing Orphan Patients, are just a few examples of our strong commitment in this area...

I will be away this week and I want to thank  Past Pres. Trudy for filling in for me at Tuesday's meeting.

Four Way Test

Of the things we think, say, and do:
        1.  Is it the TRUTH?
        2.  Is it FAIR to all concerned?
        3.  Will it build GOODWILL and better
             FRIENDSHIPS?
        4.  Will it be BENEFICIAL to all
             concerned?

Rotary Song

R-O-T-A-R-Y, that spells Rotary.
R-O-T-A-R-Y, is known on land and sea.
From north to south, and east to west,
They profit most who serve the best,
R-O-T-A-R-Y, that spells Rotary.
