President's Message

My thanks to Dave Robinet for laying out the details of this year’s Board election. During a “normal” year, we try to wrap up the elections by the end of November. Also, Dave identified that we need to fill the current Board’s President Elect vacancy soon so our District can arrange for their training in February/March 2021. As part of the annual election process, the Club will need another President Elect for the July 1, 2021 Board, with the associated training to happen in February/March 2022.
For our newer members, below is the roll of our distinguished Past Presidents; the highlighted names are members that have served two terms:

Howard Ziedenberg

Annually in November, the Club holds its Anniversary Dinner. Traditionally, the dinner has been hosted by one of our members and it’s been a hugely successful potluck. I am hoping the Club can come up with a plan for this year to recognize our anniversary and have some fun before we enter the cold days of winter. Possibly we could arrange a ZOOM dinner. All suggestions are welcome for a Club meeting discussion.

          President Howard

Lyn McGowan provided an update on the District Grant application tha has been approved for our club's donations to PPE by Chris Finkle, Food for Learning, and Hospital COVID fund.
President Howard reminded members that we need to identify a President Elect imminently so that he/she may participate in PE training and become President next July.  He also announced that Trudy will be holding a meeting of the New Projects committee after this meeting.
Donations approved at the Board meeting:
  • Contribution to the Legion's Poppy Fund ($75)
  • $500 to Rotary Club of Campellford's All Ability Swing Project
  • $500 to Quilts of Valor

Board members needed for 2021-2022 Rotary fiscal year:

Michelle Kosoy still has a number of items that need to be picked up by online auction winners.
David Gillingham of Domaine Darious has indicted he will be donating all his labor and supplies to the Rotary Wine initiative.  We only have to pay for the taxes.   Pierre LeBrun suggested we should be issuing Certificates of Appreciation for people who demonstrate such charity.
Lana Whitteker reminded all about the Christmas Angels program from the Food Bank.  She will be doing all the shopping for the toys, and she welcomes any additional participants who want to donate $30 per child.
Meeting adjourned with the 4 way test at about 8:30 a.m.

Rotary Song Lyrics:
R-O-T-A-R-Y, that spells Rotary.
R-O-T-A-R-Y, is known on land and sea.
From north to south, and east to west,
They profit most who serve the best,
R-O-T-A-R-Y, that spells Rotary.

Four Way Test
Of the things we think, say, and do:
        1.  Is it the TRUTH?
        2.  Is it FAIR to all concerned?
        3.  Will it build GOODWILL and better
        4.  Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
