President's Message

This will be my last message before Christmas and the New Year.

I was thinking to myself, “What is the one thing in my heart that I wish for the world?” The answer is ‘PEACE.’ There is so much strife in the world and so much death and injuries. How can we, as human beings, be so dangerous to each other? Unfortunately, the root of the problem is power and money. And it won’t improve soon with all the geo-political issues going on in the world. I pray that I am wrong.

As the New Year unravels, we must continue to show patience, goodwill, and as Rotarians “Service Above Self.”

As a new grandparent, I am experiencing love and feelings I never thought existed. I worry about his future. I worry about all of the children dying worldwide. Some of the reasons are due to war and of course, famine and hunger.

On the positive side of the ledger, so to speak, I am very impressed with our local food banks and how many of our Rotarians volunteer to do so many good things for those in need. To see a child smile and hear  them laugh with excitement brightens my heart. With the New Year upon us, let’s do our share as Rotarians and continue to lead the way in helping people locally and internationally whenever the need arises.

I, as you should be, am very proud of our club and all that we do. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

Wishing you and yours the best of the holiday season. Stay safe, happy, and enjoy your families.

Roger Tessier
President 2024/2025

On Second Thought: Lazy is such an ugly word. I prefer the term “selective participation.”

Pictures from 2024 Christmas Dinner

The Christmas pot luck dinner held at the Wellington on the Lake Community Centre was a sumptious & merry event.  There were over 50 Rotarians with their spouses and guests.  Fun was had by all!
Live music provided by the Rotarian trio of Robynne, Colin, and Kim.

Four Way Test

Of the things we think, say, and do:
        1.  Is it the TRUTH?
        2.  Is it FAIR to all concerned?
        3.  Will it build GOODWILL and better
             FRIENDSHIPS?
        4.  Will it be BENEFICIAL to all
             concerned?

Rotary Song

R-O-T-A-R-Y, that spells Rotary.
R-O-T-A-R-Y, is known on land and sea.
From north to south, and east to west,
They profit most who serve the best,
R-O-T-A-R-Y, that spells Rotary.
