The Rotary Club of Wellington (ON) pledged $5000 to the Canadian Red Cross for the British Columbia Floods and Extreme Weather appeal. Additional donations from the Community raised it to $10,400,  and the funds were sent to the Red Cross before December 26th, , which was matched by both the B.C. Government and the Government of Canada.

In the December 8th issue of the Wellington Times, there was an article entitled Helping Fellow Canadians, wherein the Rotary Club of Wellington pledged $5,000 to the Canadian Red Cross for the British Columbia Floods and Extreme Weather appeal.  With both the BC Government and Government of Canada offering to match all donations up to December 26th, we challenged community members to help increase the amount of the pledge.  We are thrilled to report that we have received $5,400 in donations from the community, which means $10,400 will be sent to the Red Cross, which becomes almost $31,000 with the matching by the BC and Federal Government.  Thank You for such a wonderful response!
