May 15, 2024 - Accessible mat project launched at Wellington Rotary Beach. Thanks to the hard work by Rotary Club of Wellington, local organizations, and a corporate commitment from Corona Canada, access to paradise at Wellington Rotary Beach is now equally enjoyable to all, regardless of mobility, ability or age.

Last Wednesday afternoon, the Rotary Club of Wellington hosted a beach party to cut the ribbon at the grand opening. Mobility mats, picnic area and two floating mobility chairs were unveiled.

This accessible beach mat, and the two mobi-chairs will allow everyone to access the beach and water safely and comfortably, regardless of ability, mobility or age. This makes the beach safer and accessible to everyone. The Wellington Rotary Club and the County worked closely together with Wade Watts, of WAC-Watts Accessibility Consulting, to make this happen. Thank you to the Rotary Clubs of Belleville, Brighton, Picton, Stirling, and Trenton, for their monetary contributions.

A huge thanks goes out to Corona Canada, President Lyn McGowan, Past-President Ken Robertson, Rotary Member Dave Robinet, Councillor Corey Engelsdorfer, and the County Staff. Your hard work and dedication made this all possible. Our club is beaming with pride.
