The Wellington beach is a great place to walk, sunbathe, swim, picnic, canoe, kayak, launch your boat (docking facilities with electrical hook-ups and water available) and explore the interpretive signage along the boardwalk/pathway system.

Ode to Wellington Rotary Beach - By Reg Gemmell:

 

In 2009 the club completed its five year beach improvement project building, picinic tables, a boardwalk and pathway, benches, sunshelter, washroom/changeroom, and 13 interpretive signs on the following subjects: overview of the beach, the geography of the beach, the early days, early fishing on Wellinton beach, the days of sail and steam, shipwrecks, lifesaving stations, and lifeboats, the fish of Lake Ontario, the fish of West Lake, birds found in and around West Lake, birds of the beach and open Lake Ontario, local birds of the treed area, indigenous plants - and a list of donors to the project.
